Women's emancipation

Emancipation of women is the direction of the socio-political reform movement, the basis of which is the desire to free women from oppression on the basis of gender. Emancipation of women in simple words implies the provision of full equality in all social manifestations, both at the level of the state and the public, as well as in working life, as well as family life. In essence, this movement requires the provision of equal rights with men, the opportunity to participate in the choice of the future course of the movement (both in politics and in one’s own family), as well as actively transforming reality.

What it is

The concept of emancipation has become known in the context of the struggle of the female half for their rights, but this term means liberation from any dependence, prejudice, or oppression. This category is used in sociological fields and characterizes not only the liberation of women, but also the way out of the paternal authority of children and the recognition of their capacity.

With respect to different nationalities, the concept is used to denote the abolition of oppression in the rights of various peoples (this is most clearly seen in the process of emancipation of the Jewish peoples). In addition to human spheres, emancipation is used in all spheres where it is necessary to emphasize independence or freedom of independent expression, even in music, this characterizes the lack of need to fall into discord, which can lead to the birth of new creative works.

In addition to the refusal of inadequate power, emancipation involves the restoration of the legal sphere and the endowing of equal responsibilities. These principles must be respected by both parties, i.e. it does not happen that only a woman or a child demands their independence and equality, but also that person who theoretically could infringe his rights should respect freedom and demand corresponding fulfillment of obligations from the second party.

Emancipation, as a universal movement implies a voluntary rejection of oppression. This is a very important point, because previously a person could formally be released from duties or derogatory treatment, and in fact transfer the ownership of his life and decisions to another or influence the level of psychological pressure and manipulation.

In the original historical context, the term was used in relation to children who were separated from their parents and ceased to be under their influence and care. Only over time, it became synonymous with equality and began to spread to various social groups whose freedoms were infringed for one reason or another. The most common is women's emancipation and the femin's desire for equal freedoms.

The movement for the emancipation of women in the 19th century

The history of the emancipation of women officially began in the days of the French Revolution, but one cannot say that such ideas were born only then, rather, it was a good time for a revolution of consciousness and the creation of new social and legal foundations. Femin tried to defend their rights and receive new levels of freedom, acting by underground methods - they organized demonstrations and strikes, gathered closed meetings and circles where they discussed the role of their own opinions and the possibility of realizing their personal resource. Due to the official ban on women to influence politics, they changed into men's suits and thus tried to change the current legislation, which caused a strong indignation on the part of men. After such antics, meetings and protests were officially banned, and those who supported such actions were punished as violators of the current regime.

Representatives for women's emancipation did not stop after the imposed bans, and in the end they managed to defend their own point of view and achieve a shift in equality. Naturally, initially, each new opportunity was won back with great difficulty, and even now there are areas where emancipated actors have not yet reached. The centuries-old structure of patriarchy, the perception of a woman as a lower being, has long been imprinted in history, legislation and psychology cannot be eradicated from the psyche and the global structure in one day.

In addition to the independent women's movement in order to obtain additional freedoms, economic development in the 19th century led to the fact that more and more workers were needed in factories and mills. It was such a new industry that turned women from domestic hens into wage workers who performed their duties on an equal basis with men, for which they received the corresponding reward. Intellectual development was moving, and more and more women began to use formal consent to receive education - scientists and doctors of science began to appear, many left to teach at universities or made new scientific discoveries.

It can be said that the socio-economic situation and the development of many countries helped the development of the emancipated movement from the inside, because under different external conditions the women's rebellion would be banal suppressed and everything would return to normal. Revolutionary periods have forever left many prohibitions in the past and provided opportunities for self-realization, but at the same time new problems have emerged, both on a personal level and on a general social level. Changing the role of women has a direct and very bright impact on the system of the whole society, on its further development and framework of existence.

Problems and consequences of the emancipation of women

The positive aspects of emancipation were clearly defined in revolutionary times, now they are still talked about at every opportunity when new levels of equality are upheld, but for justice, it is worth noting that the new organization of society has brought new problems.

Having received equal rights after long periods of prohibition, many women began to behave like teenagers whose parents went to their country house. Uncontrolled use of alcohol and smoking, working in heavy industries on the one hand harm its health, and on the other gradually destroy all of humanity. The female body quickly becomes addicted, copes worse with the processing of poisons, and as a result, it turns out that not only the individual fate of the woman, but also her children, if they can appear with a health disorder, is destroyed.

Equality also affected family relations, where people agreed to jointly fulfill family obligations. At this stage, there are already official studies and confirmed evidence that families living according to the old way are divorced less often. The reason lies in the fact that men internally do not want to meet, prepare meals or wash floors, and women are arranged on a full-fledged work schedule, and simply do not have time to do it, which leads to constant conflict. If duties are divided not by time, but by functionality, then it begins to resemble working arrangements, which ultimately deprives the relationship of brightness of feelings, immediacy of manifestation and the original romantic component.

All this only adds sharp corners, and with the fact that women have gained financial independence, they no longer strive to preserve relationships in any way, but easily go to the rupture. It cannot be said that this is definitely negative, because living with a person who constantly degrades dignity does not make sense and now there is an opportunity to put an end to this, but in some moments people stop appreciating the relationship itself in principle.

At a psychological level, gender is distorted, women become more masculine, which in turn strengthens the feminine part of men. Clearly defined boundaries between the sexes are erased, society becomes androgynous, and the number of different-sex ties increases. Men are increasingly using women's rights, for example, to go on maternity leave, practice a child, learn embroidery or dance. It can not be definitely considered a negative just at a turning point the society is not yet ready to accept the changes that are occurring.

Now there are quite a large number of people living according to the previous notions of male and female, they are trying to bring everything back to its original state, which causes only conflicts. Women themselves, taking advantage of their careers, overcoming the difficulties inaccessible to men, achieving success and cultivating active male qualities in themselves begin to feel longing for a strong shoulder.

Inside those who fought for freedom and independence, the inner memory of those times is alive, when you could not take on so much responsibility and hide behind a strong back. In the present world, where women are becoming stronger, men do not increase their strength, but weaken - the law of conservation of energy, which no one has taken into account.

The total burden on the woman increased as a result, since the previous household and family responsibilities have not gone away, only now professional ones have been added to them. The downside is that men refuse to help, indicating that everyone is independent and can help himself.

If earlier a woman simply wrote a list of all necessary, now she still has to purchase it, and then keep the housekeeping and work in good condition. Where men do not understand the inner meaning of the concept, and there is no help from the nanny, housekeeper and other people, the woman will fall into even greater slavery through her own efforts, which is impossible to get out of because she only blames herself.

As in any reform efforts, the main problem is the correct presentation of information and the absence of distortion of meaning. Where this is done correctly and accurately, women receive only opportunities for development, realization and the ability to positively influence the world. In those situations where the concept is distorted by women themselves, by men or by power, there is a substitution of concepts and what was planned to improve life, as a result, it not only makes it heavier, but in some situations also destroys it. Therefore, if you personally know that your will not help you around the house, adheres to old traditions, then it makes sense to take care of yourself and choose only the work that will bring pleasure and give a lot of resource and free time, and shift the responsibility for family support on his shoulders.

Emancipation is only one of the possible ways, a variant of the development of one’s own life, and how much use it is necessary to decide independently. At the level of the state and the legislative base, women's freedom of realization is always defended by the efforts of revolutionaries.
