Spirituality is a unique personal experience that is gained through the knowledge of oneself; going beyond the chapels of their own narrow interests, the maturity of personal values. It is considered as a phenomenon of the inner experience of the subject, going beyond the limits of individuality, something connected with the divine, superpersonal or the forces of the cosmos. This concept identifies the individual to the Holy Spirit, reflects his proximity to God, the output of the personality beyond the limits of the soul's being. On the other hand, it treats the sincerity, intellectuality, virtue and morality of the individual.
In modern religious studies, spirituality is considered as the most common feature characterized by experience that arises within human experiences, which culture has an influence on. Accordingly, the source of this concept is the inner experience of the individual. "Spiritus" is a literal translation of the meaning of this word "spirit"; it is believed that the definition of a person’s spirituality is a derivative of a given word. For today's world, this usage is used to explain the highest part of human delicacy, the spiritual essence of the subject, a description of his inner life. Denial of the dependence of human existence on the material and physical appearance of human life.
The definition of human spirituality has numerous interpretations in connection with the existence of various paradigms in the life of society. Through all the various explanations of spirituality there is a certain pattern in attributing it to the religious life of the individual. However, spirituality as an individual personal experience is not always identified with religion and is not always determined by it. In most explanations, this concept is interpreted in the directions of humanitarian psychology. At the same time, it combines with a certain mystical act, esoteric traditions or philosophical teachings. Within this, spirituality is aimed at the development of a holistic personality as a system including altruism, rich inner experience, selflessness, compassion, and a developed inner world.
As a psychological category, spirituality began to be viewed from the end of the nineteenth century, defining it within the framework of an understanding psychology. Edward Spranger, Wilhelm Dilthey, as representatives of this trend, focused on the study of the relationship between the spiritual activities of the individual (culture, ethics and art) and the psyche of the individual. At the same time denied the relationship of the psyche of the subject with the natural sciences. Karl Jung later considered spirituality in the framework of analytical psychology. In the framework of these studies, the concept was examined and analyzed through the prism of the collective unconscious and archetypes. Jung became the founder of the analysis of the psychology of religion and alchemy.
In the paradigm of humanistic existential and transpersonal psychology, spirituality was identified with the higher unconscious, which is a source of creative inspiration (Roberto Assagioli). Maslow Abraham, in his many studies, identified the relationship of spirituality with peak experiences. The occurrence of which occurs in the period of self-actualization of the individual.
Spirituality depending on the occurrence of transpersonal experiences and spiritual crises was examined in the research of Stanislav Grof. Within the framework of transpersonal teachings, this concept was interpreted as a kind of healing using shamanism and other traditional cultures. Also, Viktor Frankl views this phenomenon as something higher than the anthropological dimensions of the subject. In the aspect of Christian psychology, scientists spirituality interpret identically with the highest divine or demonic forces of nature, manifested in the actions of the individual, and its manifestation in other directions is denied.
Human spirituality, as something deeply subjective, is internally incapable of being investigated with the help of scientific research techniques. By identifying himself with thoughts, feelings, and memory, a person discovers the true nature of his consciousness, determines his true self, and thereby finds it.
Spirituality is a phenomenon that distinguishes human life from natural existence and adds a social character to it. How much a person uses spirituality depends his existence, his future and his true. Since the awareness of the individual surrounding, the formation of a more elegant presentation and a deeper relationship to the world, is the concept of human spirituality. Today, spirituality helps a person to know himself, his meaning of life and purpose in it.
Spirituality helps humanity on the path to survival, developing a stable society and a whole person. She plays a crucial role in the process of forming a social society. The ability of a person to distinguish between a hostile and alien in his existence, allows you to protect his environment, himself from the erroneous actions and actions that have devastating consequences. Speaking about the problem, we should touch upon the emergence of the spiritual and moral problems of society. As is known, the current stage of the life of society is experiencing a crisis of spirituality.
Spirituality and morality acquire new meanings and realization. So, the prosperity of cruelty, crime, disorder, speculation, the shadow economy, drug addiction, inhumanity - the consequences of the fall of human spirituality, respectively, the devaluation of human life. Although the decline in the level of morality of the population does not lead to a direct death, it leads to the destruction of many institutions of society: economic, spiritual and political.
The most scrupulous problem is that it is the destruction of a society that occurs imperceptibly for a person. A new stage in the formation of the culture of humanity contributes to the development of liberated, free, uncomplexed, open to innovation individuals, but at the same time indifferent, aggressive and indifferent. Most people direct their actions to fill life with material, consumer values, rejecting the spiritual component of human existence.
There is a contradiction in the formation of the current community: scientific and technological progress and spiritual development are absolutely on different paths, with a large number of individuals losing moral support in life, thereby complicating the spiritual life of the whole society. Against this background, in the period from the twentieth century, the complete devaluation of human life began. History shows that every century, going to change the "old inhuman", brought more and more victims among the people. Despite the development of social and political conditions of life, a developed culture, literature - brutal atrocities were carried out in relation to a person’s personality. At the same time, the lack of morality was considered as something contributing to such actions, assumed to be the paradigm of this society.
Whatever a developed socio-economic society, technologies and resources, it is impossible to solve the problem of life with their help. Only a change in a person’s thinking, a change in the inner worldview, an awareness of the integrity and spirituality of society will help guide him to the true path of existence and development. Creating an ideal world of human spirituality, creating a world of values and concepts will help raise a person’s soul high above material wealth. In order to renew society, it is necessary to act from within: renew the spirituality and morality of the subjects, prepare the human mind for the coming changes, for the realization of the importance of the integrity of society and the renewal of the system of values.
