"Owl" and "Lark"

“Owl” and “Lark” are two common, opposite in terms of the parameters of the chronotype (the nature of the daily working capacity inherent in a particular person). In addition to the two chronotypes, also sometimes distinguish the subtype - "pigeon". The theory of the nature of activity observed throughout the daily cycle, was born a long time ago. At the same time, about experimentally, scientists confirmed the reality of the existence of chronotypes, and also found that they manifest themselves regardless of whether people have desires. The essence of the analyzed concept lies in a certain alternation throughout the day of the stages of efficiency and passivity inherent in man. According to this alternation of people belong to one of the above chronotypes.

Characteristic "owls"

Daily travel to the Morpheus kingdom is an inseparable part of human existence. It is precisely the dream that must be given special attention, because in the process of a given physiological state, individuals restore their own strength, relax, emotional calm, physical relaxation and intellectual unloading take place. Thanks to these beneficial qualities of sleep, it is no wonder that it is considered an indispensable medicine.

The modern high-speed pace of being obliges people to keep active for a long time interval. Many work activities require you to be on your feet almost from dawn and to maintain performance almost until dusk. At the same time, for some people it’s easier to get up with roosters in a great mood, but for others it’s too difficult for them. What is the reason for such inequality? And here, the feathered inhabitants of the planet - larks, owls and pigeons can answer the question posed. These birds gave the name to three chronotypes of a person, explaining why some people can move mountains at night and are practically incapacitated early in the morning, while others are capable of performing feats at dawn and at the same time are incapable, during the rule of the moon, for the simplest act.

Almost half of the world's inhabitants (about 40%) belong to a subtype called the "owl", which represents an individual who feels comfortable during the night. The described category of people may not close their eyes during the night and with pleasure plunge into the depths of dreams with the first timid rays of the sun right up to dinner.

"Owls" is quite problematic to tear yourself from a soft pillow at 9.00 in the morning. However, professional activity forces them to re-make themselves every day. Therefore, in order to tune in to the desired wave, "owls" are encouraged to start a new morning with a trip to the shower, preferably a contrast.

In addition, the "owls" should not start the day with a hearty breakfast, because their body is still in deep hibernation. It is because of this that the morning meal of the "owl" people should begin after a few hours after awakening.

They are recommended to start the day with a glass of warm water. It triggers metabolic processes. In the morning, "owls" is better not to eat meat dishes. The best is breakfast, consisting of sour-milk provisions or cereals. Of the drinks for them would be preferable natural coffee.

Also, night owls are not recommended, contrary to conventional wisdom about the usefulness of morning exercises, to start the weekday with physical exertion. The ideal time, suitable for going to the gym, is the evening period, after 18.30. In addition, the "owls" may experience difficulty falling asleep early.

People "owls" are distinguished by their characteristic appearance. Since night owls are placed in bed rather late, then the last meal they have almost immediately before leaving for the Morpheus kingdom. As a result, the figure suffers. At the same time, among the night owls, wearer individuals are also quite common, but this is due either to their accelerated metabolism or their professional activities (for example, academics, analysts, typical party-goers), that is, all those who, due to a forced lifestyle, often forget about the need to eat .

People who prefer nightlife tend to talk little, they prefer to play the role of a bystander. Their speech is characterized by slowness. They are characterized by a thorough weighing of each phrase before its exposure to a verbal form. Among night owls you can rarely find ardent speakers. Moreover, if the "owls" set out to convince opponents of something, then often their arguments are solid and convincing.

Also, the people of the "owl" differ in their approach to the choice of everyday clothes. Fans of night festivities prefer bright attire, and couch potatoes, in their turn, are adherents of a comfortable wardrobe in the form of worn jeans and an elongated sweater.

At the same time, according to numerous surveys and surveys, people belonging to the subtype "owl", after 50 years, are much more successful and richer than their antipodes - "larks".

Characteristic "Lark"

Most scholars agree that initially all of humanity belonged to only one chronotype, called the "Lark". Confirmation of this can be found in various African tribes, to which to this day have not reached the so-called "benefits" of civilization. Natives do not know about the existence of electricity, and therefore invariably go to bed with the advent of darkness. The "larks" at dawn wake up and at the same time do not feel either brokenness or lethargy. As a result, scientists made the assumption that the owl chronotype arose precisely after the occurrence of electricity, which made it possible to significantly increase the duration of a "light" day.

The modern organization of life is set up under the "larks" and "owls" have to put up with this "injustice" or choose their own activities that will allow them to lead a lifestyle that corresponds to their biorhythms.

Different biorhythms "owl and lark" affect in addition to daily activities, as well as the interaction of the sexes. In family ties, this discrepancy in the cyclical characteristics of the body’s vital activity significantly complicates the relationship between spouses. Since the peak activity of partners teaches at different time intervals, it is quite difficult for them to organize a family lifestyle, so that it is comfortable for both spouses. As a result, intimate life becomes less frequent, as well as spending time together. This gives rise to swearing and confrontation.

The chronotype "early bird" means a person who prefers an early rise. At the same time, the morning “little birds” feel themselves awake and sleepy at sunrise. This subtype of individuals also implies an early departure to the Morpheus kingdom, since their activity decreases as the sun sets.

It is believed that the "larks" occupy a fourth of the population of the globe. Their peak activity is observed until noon.

People "larks" usually look tucked up, because their style of life allows them to perform a morning jog or do exercises. They are less likely to suffer from catarrhal ailments in comparison with owls, since they spend nights in their own cozy beds, rather than popular clubs. However, among the "larks" you can meet obese subjects, if they prefer various sweets to sports exercises.

Active gestures and lively facial expressions distinguish people who love to get up at dawn. During the conversation, they tend to swing their arms, pull at their hair or a bag strap. By the faces of the “larks” it is easy to judge their thoughts. Their speech is characterized by speed.

The chronotype of “larks” is quite cheerful people, therefore, they are often predisposed to spontaneous monologues and jumping from the topic. Getting along with the described category of persons is quite simple. It is believed that among the "larks" are rarely found hypocrites.

In a few words, to characterize the chronotype "Lark" can be as follows: they are distinguished by their constant optimism and enthusiasm, while they are rather quick-tempered and conservative.

Pigeon's daily routine

Studies have shown that the most consistent and most adapted to the modern rhythm of being and working conditions is the human dove chronotype. Since the generally accepted mode of activity, the rest schedule is most appropriate for pigeon biorhythms. In addition, people "pigeons" easily and without harm to their own physiological state can adjust to virtually any schedule. So, for example, "larks" are characterized by excellent health indicators and poor plasticity of biorhythmic processes, any change in the usual mode is negatively imprinted on well-being.

Judging superficially, it may seem that the least fortunate are “owls”, because their performance is activated when all colleagues leave the workplace and health indicators are significantly inferior to those of “larks”. However, by the fifty-year period, it becomes obvious that night owls are still healthier than their "feathered antipodes". This is due to the high level of adaptation potential. In addition, night people are less prone to stress.

Sociologists argue that people are "lark" more prone to the occurrence of myocardial diseases, "pigeons" - the nervous system, and "owls" - bones and joints.

The "larks" are successful in activities that involve accuracy, diligence and scrupulousness, creative professions are most appropriate for "owls" and creative positions for "pigeons".

In the "pigeons" comes a comfortable time of awakening somewhat later than their "brothers". The period of maximum physical vitality and mental activity falls on the interval from 10 to 18 hours. In Morpheus, the described category of persons usually departs at approximately 23 hours.

The “dove” chronotype is better adapted to the alternation of light and darkness. The shift of his personal biological clock occurs only when traveling long distances, due to the change of time zones. For example, he may experience insomnia at night due to a 3 hour time difference and drowsiness, lethargy during the day. Such moments and lead to a general decrease in performance. It is worth emphasizing that when moving in a westerly direction, the “pigeons” show a prolongation of biological rhythms, and travels to eastern countries cause their shortening. The chronotype of people of "pigeons" prefers balanced, unsaturated fats and harmful ingredients to food.

Biologists say that the biorhythmic processes of the "pigeon" make it possible to manifest the same activity, both in the morning and in the evening. For them, gymnastic exercises will be equally useful, that when the light of the rising sun, that when the moon shines. An important condition for the well-being of the chronotype "pigeon" is in the afternoon relaxation.

In addition, the described chronotype has one significant feature - their internal watch "mechanism" is easy to knock down. In order to exist in an adequate rhythm always, it is necessary to help the body with endorphins, which are produced when a person does something pleasant for his own person.

Mixed types

The type of daily vivacity character is determined by the elevations and descents of mental activity, physical activity over a twenty-four-hour cycle.

During the life of a person's chronotype may change several times. Being born, the baby originally belongs to the “lark” subtype, with the start of learning activities, the children adjoin the ranks of the “pigeons”, the institute life forces the newly minted students to transform into “owls”. After the birth of the baby, the former students of the "owl", and now responsible parents, are again made "larks". In an advanced age, early ascent becomes as natural as in infancy.

Many believe that the transformation of chronotypes occurs quickly. However, this proposition is not entirely accurate, since the transition from the "lark" to the "owl" without harmful consequences takes several months, but the reverse transformation occurs much faster - up to 9 days. Such a sharp discrepancy is due to the naturalness of early awakening.

Today it is quite rare to find the described chronotypes in their pure form. People "larks" and "owls", as well as "pigeons" in unmixed version almost never occur. This is due to the progress, the emergence of great opportunities, the aspirations of the individuals themselves. Many people can sacrifice sleep for their own hobbies, that is, they come to Morpheus after midnight, and they are forced to wake up around seven, because the work is calling. Such subjects can be safely attributed to the owl-dove subtype. There are, for example, "larks-pigeons". Individuals representing this subtype can easily rise at sunrise and can maintain activity at the same level throughout the day. However, it is rather difficult to adhere to the described regime for a long time. Gradually, the body's reserves will be depleted due to the lack of proper sleep, which fills the person with life-giving force. After a certain amount of time, such subjects will experience a decline in physical activity and intellectual activity.

According to the research, 73% of the population of the planet belongs to the mixed chronotype.

Vital biological rhythms imperceptibly for people affect their whole being. They affect their physical potential, mental activity, emotional background, as well as the ability to adapt. Compliance with its own biorhythms is very important, especially in the modern world, when environmental conditions invariably change.

Defining your own chronotype will allow a person to make the most optimal and effective use of inner potential and to find emotional balance.

Many methods have been developed to identify an individual chronotype; for example, you can determine your chronotype by counting the Hildelbrand index by measuring the pulse rate and chest movements (respiration), and correlating them to each other. The described test should be carried out immediately after waking up.
